Park City fall activities 2026 after Labor Day: what is actually open

Updated September 5, 2026. Resort hours pages move. Re-check Park City Mountain and Deer Valley the morning you go.

Monday is Miners Day — September 7, 2026, the 130th year. Federal Labor Day everywhere else. Park City fall activities 2026 after Labor Day split by base: do not assume every lift is still daily. Which base you own at — or are shopping — changes which lifts are still spinning.

This is an operations calendar, not a foliage essay.

Two resorts, three Park City fall calendars

Park City Mountain does not run one September clock. Vail’s Summer 2026 tip sheet splits the bases:

Base 2026 window
PCM Mountain Village & Adventure Park Daily June 6–September 7; then Thursday–Sunday September 10–27
PCM Canyons Village Daily June 13–September 27
Deer Valley summer season June 19–September 20 (passholder preview June 13–14)

Scenic lifts named on the tip sheet: Town Lift (Main Street), Payday Express and Crescent Express (Mountain Village), Red Pine Gondola (Canyons Village). A 2026/27 Epic Pass includes free scenic lift rides. I am not printing first-chair / last-download hours — the tip sheet sends you to parkcitymountain.com hours, and that page was down during the research pass. Recheck it the morning you go. I am also not printing which specific PCM lifts spin on a given Thursday–Sunday in the Sep 10–27 window. The tip sheet names the summer lifts; it does not print a per-day fall matrix.

If your lock-and-leave is at Canyons Village, village ops are listed daily through September 27. If it is at Mountain Village, daily ops end Monday; after that you are on a Thursday–Sunday product through the 27th.

Deer Valley is not weekend-only in September 2026. The April 23 summer-operations release runs a full summer season through September 20, then it closes. Bike-park access via Silver Lake Express (base) and Homestake Express (mid-mountain); scenic rides via Sterling Express and Silver Lake Express. Confirm on deervalley.com the week of whether Silver Lake Express is every day through the 20th versus event-only on festival weekends. I am not inventing a last operating hour.

Two dated weekends sit inside that Deer Valley window:

  • Fox US Open of Mountain Biking, September 11–13, Bald Eagle Mountain — final round of the Pro Downhill Series / U.S. National Mountain Bike Championship. Spectator tickets listed Thursday Sep 10 practice through Sunday Sep 13. Lodging promo window Sep 9–15.
  • 5th Annual Deer Valley Mountain Beer Festival, September 19–20 — closing weekend. Scenic chairlift access, outdoor dining, live music. Tickets on deervalley.com.

Four Silly Sundays and a Wednesday market that outlasts the lifts

Park Silly Sunday Market remaining 2026 dates: September 6, 13, 20, and 27. Hours 10 a.m.–5 p.m., rain or shine, Historic Main Street. September 6 is this Sunday — still inside the long weekend. Four Sundays are left in the season.

If you own on or just off the corridor, those are closure mornings. Park City Transit has run fare-free since 1975. Use it.

Park City Farmers Market at Mountain Village: Wednesdays May 27–September 30, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. That Wednesday market runs after Mountain Village lifts leave daily service.

Park City Wine Festival: October 2–3 — after the PCM summer season ends September 27.

Trails and rec that do not need a resort lift

Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park: Utah State Parks current-conditions page last updated August 25, 2026 — day-use Open, surface Open, trail maintenance underway; Stage 2 fire restrictions (no open fires). Twenty-eight miles, Park City to Echo Reservoir; first rail-trail in Utah.

Park City Historic Mine Route opens to the public on Miners Day, September 7 — about 7 miles, 24 mining sites, developed by Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History on mostly existing Mountain Trails Foundation trails. After the parade, that is a trail you can actually walk.

Trailside Park (Basin Recreation): 60-acre hub — sports fields, skatepark, bike park, 9-hole disc golf, tennis/pickleball, paved loop. Listed accessible year-round. Courts listed seasonal dawn-to-dusk.

Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter (USU Extension), 1258 Center Drive, 84098: 1,200-acre preserve at the Kimball Junction entry. EcoCenter hours Wednesday–Sunday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Closed Wednesday Oct 7 and Thursday Oct 8 (listed on the live hours block).

Basin Recreation Fieldhouse (1388 Center Drive, Kimball Junction): posted hours Monday–Friday 5:30 a.m.–10 p.m.; Saturday–Sunday 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Labor Day Monday Sep 7: 5:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; normal hours resume Tuesday Sep 8 (operator notice). Re-confirm on basinrecreationutah.gov if the hours block updates. I am not inventing Park City MARC / City Park rec-center fall hours — those were not confirmed on this pass.

Golf that is still taking times

Park City Golf Club (municipal, Thaynes): reservations 7 days by phone / 9 days online; last 18-hole tee time around 2:30 p.m. due to less sunlight during spring and fall — language that assumes the course is still taking fall tee times. The city page does not print a 2026 closing day. Draft Golf Course Master Plan goes to City Council September 17, 2026. Manager Vaughn Robinson, 435-615-5800.

Canyons Golf: Vail tip sheet says open daily May 16–mid-October. That is mid-October, not a dated close. Do not treat it as a calendar day.

Match the house to that calendar

If you own — or are shopping — a second-home / lock-and-leave address, shoulder season is a use test. Your Canyons Village condo still has daily village ops through Sep 27; your Mountain Village lock-and-leave does not. Deer Valley Snow Park / Silver Lake runs a full summer clock through Sep 20, then goes dark. In-town addresses sit on the PSSM / Miners Day closure map through the end of September.

I can match a specific building to this fall’s resort and rec calendar if you are deciding whether to be here after Monday.
