Deer Valley Silver Lake Village: mid-mountain walk-to-lifts, not Empire Pass

Updated September 8, 2026. Ski-in/ski-out is a path, not a neighborhood. Walk it from the actual lobby.

Deer Valley Silver Lake Village mid-mountain lodging is a village you walk: to a lift and to a plaza. Empire Pass is higher on the same mountain, with a different lodge and a different membership overlay. Do not shop them as one MLS filter.

Silver Lake — also marketed as Upper Deer Valley — is Deer Valley’s mid-mountain village. Not Snow Park (the original lower base). Not Empire Pass (upper mountain / Empire Canyon). East Village is a separate expansion on the US-40 / Jordanelle side; this post is not that explainer.

The Deer Valley Silver Lake Village mid-mountain product

Deer Valley’s official Silver Lake Area lodging page treats this as the resort’s mid-mountain lodging district: ski-in/ski-out options and several properties within walking distance of the Village. Intermediate groomers off Bald Mountain and Flagstaff. Silver Lake Beach is the après / bike focal point — a plaza, not a lake beach — with High West Whiskey Garden, the Mountain Beer Festival, and concerts named on the resort page.

You live, or lock-and-leave, in a condo, lodge, or house around that walkable commercial/ski core: Silver Lake Lodge, the Beach, and lifts that open Bald and Flagstaff. That is a different map from Empire Pass (higher, more isolated, Empire Canyon Lodge) and from Old Town (Main Street + Town Lift).

I am not printing an elevation or a mileage from Old Town. Those numbers circulate on broker pages. The official lodging page does not print them.

Lifts from this area — then walk the snow path

Lifts listed on the official Silver Lake page:

  • Sterling, Wasatch, Sultan Express on Bald Mountain
  • Silver Lake Express — foot passenger or download to Snow Park Lodge
  • Quincy Express and Red Cloud on Flagstaff

Summer: downhill mountain bike park, scenic overlooks, hiking trails. Deer Valley’s 2026 summer season runs through September 20; the Mountain Beer Festival is the closing weekend (Sep 19–20). Shoulder season is a reason this village still functions in September. Confirm current lift status on deervalley.com.

Walk from the lobby to Silver Lake Beach and to the Sterling / Silver Lake lifts before you believe the ski-in line in the remarks. Village-core buildings are not the same product as a “Silver Lake area” home a third of a mile away.

Buildings the resort actually names

Deer Valley’s own Silver Lake lodging list is not a complete condo map. It is a set of real building names. Each has its own association, rental-program rules, and ski-path. Resort rental descriptions are for managed inventory, not a promise that every deeded unit skis the same way.

In or on the village:

  • Royal Plaza — above the shops in Silver Lake Village, typically ski-in/ski-out, on free Park City Transit. Map block: 7620 Royal Street East.
  • Sterling Lodge — ski-in/ski-out condos just steps from Silver Lake Village, mid-mountain, on the free Park City Transit route; 3- and 4-bedroom residences; kitchen, fireplace, private outdoor hot tub, underground parking. Map block: 7660 Royal Street East.

Short walk / ski-access trail (resort text):

  • Double Eagle — 2–3 blocks; ski-in via Silver Link, ski-out via Success trail
  • Enclave
  • Cache at Silver Lake — 8120 Cache Drive, 84060; short walk from Silver Lake Village; townhomes
  • Ridgepoint (~0.4 mile; ski-out depending on snow)
  • Twin Pines, The Ridge, Ontario Lodge (below Silver Lake Lodge)
  • Stag Lodge — ski-in/ski-out from select units

Private homes show on Silver Lake Drive, Bellemont Court, Lookout Drive, Sterling Drive in resort rental examples.

Do not flatten “Silver Lake” into one HOA. Building amenities — pools, hot tubs, ski storage — vary. Use that building’s documents. I am not inventing dues, rental-program splits, or a “most of Silver Lake allows nightly rentals” rule. Nightly rental is common in resort zoning. HOA + city license still control. Verify the unit.

Stein Eriksen Lodge is the historic landmark name in local writing. I am not going to imply you can buy a hotel room without confirming current ownership and product.

Transit, not a club default

Park City’s free public transit serves Silver Lake Village. Resort-managed residences include a complimentary in-resort/town shuttle via the DV Direct app. Confirm current route IDs on parkcity.gov before you name a route number.

Talisker Club is an Empire Pass / Tuhaye membership story, not a Silver Lake default. A Silver Lake purchase does not include Talisker. Do not shop it as if it does.

Empire Pass is the next road up — not the same community

Empire Canyon Lodge is a separate mid/upper-mountain day lodge at 9200 Marsac Avenue, 8,300 feet, “less than two miles from Silver Lake Village by road,” with Fireside Dining in winter. That sentence is how you keep Silver Lake Village and Empire Pass apart.

Snow Park is the original lower base, being reimagined. East Village is a new portal. Silver Lake is the existing mid-mountain village you can walk. Deer Valley’s own 2026 lodging taxonomy still treats those as separate lodging areas. Use that taxonomy.

If you want a large flat in-town lot, that is Park Meadows-type product. If you want the highest-elevation ski-in pocket, that is Empire Pass. Those are access and lot features, not personality tests.

Who this product is for (housing type, not household type)

Second-home / ski-week lock-and-leave condos in the village core. Larger townhomes a block off the plaza. A smaller set of primary or hybrid users who want mid-mountain living and will bus or drive to Main Street. Walk-to-lifts is the use case.

Sellers: long-hold village condos; homes on Bellemont / Silver Lake Drive; owners rotating out of a rental program.

Walk the snow path for the actual unit. Name the lift. Name the building. Then write the offer.

I can pull building-level ski-path, transit, and HOA-document notes for a specific Silver Lake address — village-core versus a third of a mile off the plaza.
