Does SLC airport publish a drive time from Park City?

No. Salt Lake City International publishes a ten-minute drive or fifteen-minute TRAX ride to downtown Salt Lake City, and places the airport six miles west of downtown near I-80 Exit 115B. It does not publish drive time or mileage from Park City, Canyons Village, Deer Valley, Kimball Junction, Pinebrook, or Quinn’s Junction. Park City Mountain’s 35-minute claim is a resort marketing figure, not an airport figure.

Is Heber Valley Airport a commercial airport?

No. Heber Valley Airport / Russ McDonald Field (FAA identifier HCR) is a public general-aviation field one mile south of Heber, with no control tower and no scheduled commercial passenger service in the FAA record fetched for this post. The operator’s “20 minute drive to Park City” line is operator marketing, not FAA.

Is Jordanelle State Park in Wasatch County or Summit County?

Wasatch County. Jordanelle State Park sits on Jordanelle Reservoir, filled by the Provo River, with three recreation areas: Hailstone, Rock Cliff, and Ross Creek. The park’s own language is “only a few miles from Park City,” which is a distance claim, not a minute count. Do not invent drive times from Park City addresses to those three gates — they are on different sides of the reservoir.

When do Deer Creek State Park winter day-use rates start in 2026?

October 21. Summer rates are $20/day/vehicle March 19–October 20; winter rates are $15 October 21–March 18. Utah seniors 65+ are $10. Current-conditions as of August 31, 2026 listed the main ramp and Island ramp open, water at 50%, and water levels getting very low. Re-check the statewide boat-ramp board the morning you launch. Decontamination hours disagreed between the home page and current-conditions page; call 435-654-0171.

Two airports, two reservoirs: the access product on a Park City address

A Park City address also comes with access choices: commercial aviation at Salt Lake City International (SLC airport), a public general-aviation field at Heber Valley Airport / Russ McDonald Field, and two state-park reservoirs — Jordanelle (Wasatch County) and Deer Creek (US-189 south of Heber).

This post is the corridor + water between them: I-80 toward SLC, US-40 toward Heber and Jordanelle, US-189 toward Deer Creek. Neither west-basin nor east-side is “better.” They are two different access maps.

Where a resort or FBO publishes a minute count, I’ll quote it as their claim. Lock-and-leave vs a house with boat storage is a different ownership stack (condo vs house with trailer room), not a personality split. Ramp status and park hours change with water — confirm Jordanelle and Deer Creek current-conditions pages the morning you launch.

What SLC Airport actually publishes

SLC driving directions: the airport is in Salt Lake City, six miles west of downtown. Conveniently located near Interstate 80, off Exit 115B or from Bangerter Highway. “Within a ten minute drive or fifteen minute TRAX ride of downtown Salt Lake City.” Address: 3920 W. Terminal Dr., Salt Lake City, Utah 84122.

That downtown figure is the airport talking about downtown Salt Lake City. It is not a Park City figure.

SLC publishes those downtown times — not a Park City drive time. Run your address to 3920 W Terminal Dr in a maps app. Add time for Parleys Canyon weather, I-80 incidents, and ski-Saturday peaks. Park City Mountain’s 2025–26 winter tip sheet claims “Just a 35-minute drive from Salt Lake City International Airport” and the same for Canyons Village (Vail press kit). That is a resort claim, not an airport figure, not a winter-storm figure, and not a figure for Old Town, Deer Valley, or east-side addresses. High Valley Transit 107 is Kimball Junction ↔ Salt Lake Central, not a one-seat ride to the airport.

Heber Valley Airport is a different field

Heber City’s municipal page: heberut.gov/airport. When street addresses disagree (search snippets list 630 S Airport Road vs FAA manager 630 W Airport Road), use FAA/AirNav + heberut.gov/airport together.

The operator site (hebervalleyairport.com) brands the field as serving Park City, Deer Valley, Heber City, and claims “a short 20 minute drive to Park City, Deer Valley, and the Sundance resort.” That is operator marketing, not FAA — and not a verified drive time from a Park City street address. Sundance is a different valley.

There is no scheduled commercial passenger service in the FAA record fetched for this post. This is a public GA / private-aviation field. An FBO is named on the operator page — a field fact, not a referral.

Jordanelle — identity, distance, live conditions

Jordanelle State Park: Wasatch County, on Jordanelle Reservoir, filled by the Provo River; with Deer Creek, helps provide culinary water to Wasatch, Utah, and Salt Lake Counties. Three recreation areas: Hailstone, Rock Cliff, Ross Creek. Official language: “We are located only a few miles from Park City.” That is the park’s distance claim — not a minute count.

Water, ramps, fees, and fire restrictions move with the season — open the current-conditions page the morning you launch (last updated September 2, 2026 on the research pass). Drive times from Park City addresses to Hailstone vs Rock Cliff vs Ross Creek vary — they are different gates on different sides of the reservoir. If you keep a boat, the live ramp board matters more than the listing headline.

Deer Creek — identity, distance, live conditions

Deer Creek State Park. Brochure: “Deer Creek is 10 miles south of Heber on Highway 189.” Nestled at the base of Mount Timpanogos. 2,965 acres of water (brochure).

Same rule: open the current-conditions page (last updated August 31, 2026 on the research pass) and the statewide ramp board before you trailer. Hours, rates, and ramp status change — including the summer-to-winter day-use rate flip. Park-listed concessions exist (Island Resort, Lakehouse Restaurant, zipline). They are park facts, not realtor referrals. If you keep a boat on this corridor, confirm the ramp that morning rather than trusting last month’s tip sheet.

Two highways, two corridors

I-80 is the SLC Airport ↔ Snyderville / Kimball Junction corridor (airport Exit 115B; Kimball SR-224 Exit 145).
US-40 is the Park City / Quinn’s Junction ↔ Jordanelle / Heber corridor.
US-189 is the Heber ↔ Deer Creek corridor.
FAA: KHCR is 1 mile south of Heber; AirNav lists KSLC 31 nm NW of KHCR.

A west-basin / I-80 address sits on the commercial-airport interstate. An east-side / US-40 address sits on the Heber / Jordanelle / Deer Creek highway. If you keep a boat, the ramp board matters more than the listing headline. If you fly commercial, SLC is the only commercial airport on this map.
